Our Story
Tucked away in the heart of Craighall Park, Delta Café has become one of Johannesburg’s most beloved neighbourhood spots—a warm, welcoming space where good food and genuine community come together. Nestled on a charity farm run by the REEA Foundation, the café offers a unique setting that blends relaxed dining with meaningful purpose, while proudly being a dog-friendly establishment where four-legged companions are always welcome. Founded by Daniel Basch, Delta Café was created with the vision of building more than just a restaurant: Daniel wanted a lively hub where locals could unwind, families could gather, and friendships could grow. Over the years, that vision has flourished into a vibrant community anchor known for its heartfelt service, laid-back atmosphere, and the unmistakable sense of belonging that keeps guests returning. Daniel’s dedication, generosity, and commitment to supporting the surrounding community continue to shape Delta Café into the thriving, people-centered space it is today—a place that feels like home from the moment you arrive.
The Charity You Choose To Support When You Dine With Us
When you choose to dine with us, you choose to change lives. Every meal makes a difference—feeding the body, uplifting the soul, and sustaining the community.
The REEA Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation in Craighall Park that has, for decades, given a home, dignity, and 24-hour care to adults living with epilepsy and associated illnesses. REEA also runs outreach programmes for HIV/AIDS orphans, literacy, food security, and neurological daycare—vital work that would not exist without community support.
By contributing, you become part of their story. You are the reason REEA can continue to care, feed, and uplift.
Your contribution to community care also extends beyond REEA, funding projects that bring hope to our neighbourhood, from the bridge across the river to feeding schemes, and our next goal: a borehole to provide safe drinking water for everyone.
With one meal, you do more than feed yourself. You feed the body, you nourish the soul, and you sustain the community.
